Kavitha Lankesh, arguably Karnatakas only woman director, is now directing a musical titled "Thananam Thananam". Lankesh, who won the Aravindan Puraskar for directing the best debut film "Deveeri" and the best regional film "Preethi Prema Pranaya", has created a casting coup by selecting two top Kannada heroines, Ramya and Rakshitha, for important roles in the film.

"I am making a fashion statement," says director-journalist Indrajith Lankesh about his clean-shaven head, which has become his trademark.

Indrajit Lankesh has declared war. The war is against Gireesh Kasarvalli, Mukymanthri Chandru. It all started when the award list for the year 2004-2005 was announced. Gireesh Kasaravalli and P Sheshadri did not receive the award, as they felt that the jury has not stuck to the guidelines of selecting a particular film for the award. This was brought to the notice of the concerned authority, but no action was taken. Hence Gireesh Kasaravalli stayed away from the awards function. Director Indrajit Lankesh was mum over the issue till recently. But on 1st April, he called a press meet and said that Aishwarya will be his last film. He prefers journalism and does not wish to get involved in film politics, he said.
